Tech Tip – Fusion Mix Chamber
Mix Chambers for the Fusion Gun: Always make sure to check and properly clean your mixing chamber using only the proper drill bits that come with the mixing chamber. Using the wrong size drill bit will cause over size ports and can distort your spray pattern resulting in uneven patterns and can affect your yield.
Using a pin vise, not a power drill, insert the large drill bit into the front of the mixing chamber to clean out your pattern control. Do so carefully so that you do not break the drill bit inside. Flip your pin vise over and using the smaller drill bit, clean out the side holes. Remember not to go all the way thru as the holes are off set to create a mixing vortex.
If scratches appear on the surface of the mixing chamber, use 1000, or higher, grit wet/dry sandpaper to lightly buff out the scratches.
Always spray a test pattern on the floor to check your pattern before starting to spray. If your pattern is not a clean round pattern, stop and clean or replace the mixing chamber.
As always read, understand and follow all instruction manuals and warning labels supplied with all equipment. Only trained and qualified personnel should perform repairs on the equipment. To access the latest equipment manuals visit www.graco.com.
